Toys - 11/25/2008
Hey, DTT Faithful. I’m happy to announce that I’m finally back, and, as a lot of you guessed, I’ve had a Mortal Monday planned for days. I want to deeply thank those who kept their faith in me and my work, and I am forever grateful to everyone who felt I should be the g1 of the Year. Maybe we can win this fight together next time. Let’s have some fun in the meantime. Read more

Toys - 08/17/2008
I've mentioned that Mortal Kombat was revolutionary so many times that I've lost count. We all know that had a huge impact on gaming, created a huge following, and even spawned movies, a live action series, a live tour, and a cartoon series. But what I'm going to talk about this time around is something that normally escapes the minds of gamers and MK fans: collectibles. The majority of this article will be an overview of some really cool action figures, so I'm hoping that nobody falls asleep out there. Please keep in mind that I don't own any of these(but I do have a birthday coming up if you want to get your favorite writer a cool birthday gift!).

The Movies - 08/4/2008
The Mortal Kombat series has done some amazing things over the years.  The games were great, it spawned a live action television series, it had a GI Joe-like toy brand toy deal with Hasbro, it spawned a cartoon show to promote Mortal Kombat 3, and it spawned two movies.  Oh dear god, am I going to talk about the movies?  You and I both knew this day was coming, and it's just as painful now as it would be later.  Why did these movies suck so hard?  Maybe I can help you understand.

The Borrowers - 07/28/2008
I’ve already mentioned time after time how fresh and innovative Mortal Kombat was when it hit the arcades in 1992, but did you know that it was innovative enough to spawn a large array of copycats? Everyone wanted to cash in on the controversial look and feel of the game, and quickly arcades began to fill up with fighting games that had guys tearing other guys in half at the end of matches. In this installment of Mortal Monday, we’re going to take a look at these titles that were a little beyond influenced by the Mortal Kombat series.

The Transfer to 3D - 07/21/2008
There was a load of praise and outrage when the Mortal Kombat series made the big jump to the third dimension of gaming – and I'm sure as hell not talking about Mortal Kombat 4. Midway and the MK Team officially hit the reset button on the series when Deadly Alliance came to fruition and paved the way for the Mortal Kombat games that we know today. But the big question is "Did this action mark the biggest catastrophe the franchise has ever known?"

True Armageddon - 07/07/2008
After wrapping up Deception, many MK fans were eagerly awaiting the newest Mortal Kombat title to continue the Onaga storyline. However, fans were equally excited to hear that the new MK title would feature every Mortal Kombat character to grace the series – much like Trilogy did. As more and more information about the upcoming title became available, fans slowly became skeptic about the quality that the new game would bring to the table. They were right to be skeptic. Gamespot gave it a harsh seven out of ten for the Xbox, and Playstation Magazine gave the PS2 version a three out of ten. How this could truly become the series' Armageddon?

What Could Have Been - 06/09/2008
Thanks for joining me in yet another Mortal Monday. This time I poke a little fun at Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe while asking a fairly large question: couldn’t they have come up with something better? Maybe they couldn’t, but there’s where I come in!

A Look Into UMK3 - 06/02/2008
This may be a somewhat shorter Mortal Monday. In all honesty, there wasn't going to be one this week at all mainly because I'd run out of material that way. But I wanted to comment on Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 for the Xbox Live Arcade because I had purchased it over the weekend and gave it a whirl.

Top Ten MK Secrets and Rumors - 05/26/2008
Secrets and rumors were always an extra part of the fun when it came to games in the early-to-mid 90s. Before this Internet thing came along, gamers didn't have a way to confirm or debunk rumors in seconds. We had to keep playing until we proved the rumor or ended up looking like jackasses – and we loved it. Fortunately, the Mortal Kombat series was never lacked when it came to wacky suggestions that ended up being a total sham. It's Mortal Monday, folks! Let's have a Top Ten Rumors and Secrets for Mortal Kombat.

Is the Death of Mortal Kombat Near? - 05/12/2008
Earlier before, I had written about how the latest installment in the Mortal Kombat series shouldn't even be considered part of the series. However, I'm well aware that my blog isn't going to talk Midway into the suddenly stopping the production of the game. None of us are going to be able to do that. It's time that we start facing the fact that Mortal Kombat vs. DC Comics is coming and thinking of ways to ensure that it doesn't fail. If this game fails, then the series fails. This is an extremely important year for the MK series.

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Comics: Oh It's Gonna Suck - 04/28/2008
This has been a heated topic since the project's announcement earlier this month. There are people on either side of the fence with their beliefs on why it will or won't bomb. I'm going to help you understand the history of the game and why this shouldn't even bother having the MK name.
